Kids Classes September through May

Young artists explore art history, basic theory, and technique by using art masters past and present as their guides. The process of creating is embraced. Small class sizes provide individualized attention and art materials are high quality.

My First Art Class:

Weekly class for the youngest artists (2's & 3's) and their favorite grown ups • We will explore our creativity with hands-on activities and process art projects. Come and go as your artist's attention span allows. Guaranteed to be messy (and fun) so dress appropriately. • $13 to walk in/$12 when you register.

Choose Thursdays 10:00am - 10:45 or 11:00am - 11:45

Art Explorers:

Six week sessions of weekly classes for PreK/K age artists (4's & 5's). A process-focused class for PreK/K artists who want to explore their abundant creativity. You may register for one session or several. Students who attend at least 2 of the 5 sessions are eligible to participate in the year-end art show.  • $95 per session includes all materials and supplies.   

Choose Tuesdays 1:00 - 1:45 or 3:30 - 4:15

Homeschool Creators:

Weekly class for elementary age homeschoolers (1st-5th). A process approach to traditional art lessons. Some projects will take two class periods to complete. Check our schedule for occasional field trips! • $16 per class.

Wednesdays 1:00 - 2:00

Artist of the Week:

Six week sessions of weekly classes for elementary age artists (1st-5th). A different artist or genre each week! We will explore great artists' lives and processes, then apply what we've learned to our own art. You may register for one session or several. Students who attend at least 2 of the 5 sessions are eligible to participate in the year-end art show.  • $125 per session includes all materials and supplies.   

Choose Wednesdays or Thursdays 4:30 to 5:30

Beginning Drawing:

Six week sessions of weekly classes for teen artists (6th - 12th). Explore dry media including pencil, charcoal and conte crayon as well as pen. Classes will build upon each other beginning with basic mark-making and working through contour drawing to shading and texture. Environmental and figure drawing will be covered as well as pen work. You may register for one session or several. Students who attend at least 2 of the 5 sessions are eligible to participate in the year-end art show. • $125 per session includes all supplies/materials and a personal sketchbook to document your art journey.     

Tuesdays 5:00 - 6:00

Adventures in Color:

Explore the fabulous world of color in art! Each 5-week session for teen artists (6th - 12th) covers a color medium: watercolor, pastels, acrylic, colored pencil and marker illustration. You may register for one session or several. Students who attend at least 2 of the 5 sessions are eligible to participate in the year-end art show. • $105 per session includes all supplies/materials and a personal sketchbook to document your art journey.   

Tuesdays 6:00 - 7:00

Independent Studio:

A hybrid class for motivated, teen artists (6th - 12th) to create in an open, encouraging environment. Studio time will be spent exploring personal artistic goals, learning pertinent lessons from art history and creating art that combines those goals and learning. There will be some group and some individual projects. Artists will keep a sketchbook to document their art journey (provided) and have the option to enter their pieces in the year-end art show. All supplies and materials included. • $125 for 5 visits to be used as fits your teen's busy schedule.

Mondays 4:30 to 5:45

Open Craft Night

Come create in community! Grab a friend, bring your current project and add to it using our tools & materials and/or create the curated art opportunity. Weaving, mosaic, watercolor...It's a new, creative exploration every time! Remember, art making is self care. Bring a snack and a drink if you like! Meet some new people and have fun! Click here and check the drop down menu for specific projects. • Every other Thursday throughout the summer from 6:00 - 8:00 • Ages 16 and up.

CANCELLATIONS: If cancellation is received more than 7 days prior to the event/session, a 10% cancellation fee will be applied to the refund. If participant cancels within 7 days of the event/session, no refund is available.

 

MISSED CLASSES: Because of limited capacity and high demand of Outside the Lines classes, we do not offer makeups or refunds for individual, missed classes.
